  2. Ce sunt izotopii? • Izotopii sunt atomii unui element care au acelasi numar de protoni,dar numar diferit deneutroni.

  3. Clasificarea izotopilor… • Izotopi stabili care au nuclee stabile. • Izotopi radioactivi care nu au nuclee stabile si care emit spontan radiatii.

  4. Secretele izotopilor… • Un numar mic de elemente au un singur izotop stabil; ele se numesc elemente monoizotopice(exemple: Aluminiu,Aur). • Majoritatea elementelor sunt un amestec de izotopi. Ele se numesc elemente poliizotopice(exemple: Hidrogen,Carbon,Oxigen,Sulf).

  5. Stiati ca…? • Izotopii hidrogenului au fost descoperiti astfel:in 1766 protiul,in 1932 deuteriul si in 1935 tritiul. • “Apa grea” este apa care contine deuteriu.

  6. Curiozitati… • La 5500 atomi de hidrogen usor se gaseste un atom de deuteriu. • In apa grea pestii nu supravietuiesc si semintele plantelor nu incoltesc.

  7. Importanta unor izotopi stabili… • Izotopii diferitelor elemente au aplicatii in domenii importante ale activitatii umane: biologie,fizica,medicina,arheologie,agricultura si industrie…
