7. Upgrade process Important! Offer price information by sending quotation. Check availability of regional SSU service. Schedule arrangement. Ask CCC to create quotation by Oracle. (Oracle system will include service related fare automatically.) Information of S/N and installed module are required. Confirm requirement. Check S/N of frame, inside module & revision of software. Ask data backup in inside HDD to customer. After receiving PO Install upgrade kit at supported SSU. Send upgraded B1500A to customers from SSU. Send current equipment to regional SSU by customer or Agilent pick-up service. Install the new software and OS. Import saved data or setups into HDD. Check functionalities at SSU. (Optional) Calibration. Send new equipment to regional SSU or designated place from MFG by CCC/CSR.

10. ??? Frequent Questions (FAQ) Q: Can customers use WN7 option to upgrade Win 7 by themselves? A: No, the regional SSU needs to perform all installation steps. Q: Is a calibration required after the SSU installs Windows 7 using either option WN7 or Option PC1? A: No, since the calibration data is stored in the measurementmodules and not on the HDD. All that the regional SSU needs to do is install the software onto the HDD. • Q: My customer has a B150xA running Windows 7 and is experiencing perfor-mance issues. Is there any reason for them to upgrade their hardware (PC1)? • A: If your customer is experiencing slow PC performance then it might help. • However, in many cases the customer’s HDD contains so many test results, test setups and workspaces that the PC and HDDare overloaded. Therefore, before ordering the PC1 option we recommend to have them first try cleaning up their HDD. We also recommend using a remote data server or controlling the instrument remotely to avoid filling up the instrument’s HDD.
