    • Hollywood Stereotypes

    • Read missing page from article – revise or add to your reflection/share reactions to article in table groups (tape annotated article into journal near your reflection)

    • Share examples of Native American stereotypes in groups (choose one to report out to class) . Turn –in

  • “True Diary”:

    • Persuasive/Argument Written Piece and Socratic Seminar instructions

    • Be prepared for seminar Friday!

  • HW:

    • “True Diary” – review articles, book, and online resources for evidence for your position on the issue. Bring in anything you may want to use to further support your position on the issue. Written persuasive/argument piece due Fridayfor seminar WITH any articles/evidence sources to refer to as needed!

  • Prepare for a Socratic Seminar discussion on social issue through persuasive/argument writing.

  • Participate in a real-world discussion on a social issue.


Instructions

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Gather your materials (packet of articles/cartoons etc., research, book)

  • Decide what your position will be. What is your claim (opinion)about the topic?

  • Identify evidence from the articles read in class, the novel, and your own research to support your position.

  • Write your argument (see rubric and handout) – cite textual evidence!

  • Participate in seminar (see rubric and instructions of expectations)

  • Evaluate a peer

  • Evaluate yourself
