Ammunition Depot Offers the Gear for an Underrated Everyday Carry—the .22

Ammunition Depot offers the best .22 LR ammo for sale. This is great as .22 LR ammo is considered one of the most popular cartridges. The .22 LR cartridge also produces very little recoil, which makes it the perfect caliber for teaching kids to shoot.

  1. Ammunition Depot Offers the Gear for an Underrated Everyday Carry—the .22 Ammunition Depot has long been known for supplying shooters with the best .22 LR ammo. Now, however, they also carry the firearms chambered for that ammunition. That is convenient for taking advantage of one of the most underrated and much-maligned concealed carry, everyday carry (EDC), self-defense, and home-defense options: carrying a sidearm in the .22 platform (chiefly, .22 LR and the .22 Magnum/.22 WMR). For a lot of gun owners, gun writers, armchair ballisticians, and even gun store personnel, suggesting that anyone even consider carrying a .22 pistol as an EDC is a bit abhorrent. Anything under 9mm is inevitably dismissed as “anemic,” “underpowered,” etc. However, there’s a considerable amount of evidence that renders that argument badly flawed and incomplete. The Benefits and Realities of a Defensive .22 There’s one chief reality of using a .22 that relieves it from being as useless (and even counterproductively dangerous!) as many hobbyists and gun pundits (gundits?) suggest. That is: to bad guys, or anyone else, a gun is a gun most of the time. Sure, racking a 12 gauge in someone’s direction or tagging them with the laser attached to your .300 AAC Blackout AR-15 is going to be intimidating. And it’s likely that it will be more intimidating than pointing a .22 pistol at them. But it’s not a zero-sum game in which someone is either intimidated or they’re not. Introducing a gun into any scenario changes its dynamic, and it’s a rare person who finds a gun leveled on them and scoffs at the bore of the barrel. Not to mention that .22 handguns have extremely modest recoil, they’re not going to be as shockingly loud as a large caliber pistol or rifle indoors, and they tend to be smaller, which is useful for operators with smaller hands.

  2. Stopping Power It’s becoming increasingly clear that stopping power is less important in the resolution of threats than was once thought. Despite the particulars of ballistic gelatin tests, energy transfer, and yaw, being shot with a bullet is going to hurt, a lot. And as .22 cartridges are small, a lot of them will fit in a magazine. That means a lot of follow-up shots without a lot of muzzle flip. And as is pointed out, it’s about shot placement more than it is calibers. And since .22 LR ammo for saleis so inexpensive, that means a lot of training. Although, if you’re looking for something with a little more punch, but still small enough to effectively function as an EDC or concealed carry, consider a pistol chambered for .22 WMR, the .22 Magnum. They pack quite a bit more power while holding up to 30 cartridges in the magazine. Visit Ammunition Depot to check out their wide range of guns and ammunition at https://www.ammunitiondepot.com/
