Background & who do I represent ? • 1985: Research Assistantat the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, “COSIC” Laboratory (now famous for NIST’s selection of the “Rijndael” algorithm for “AES”), working on the CEC-funded ‘RACE’ project for secure broadband ISDN (incl. e-signatures...); • 1992: Co-founder of Utimaco Safeware Belgium NV ao active in sales & consultancy of large scale PKI&e-signature projects, eg Isabel, the European Commission, Bolero, ... • 1999: Vice Chairman, EEMA, “the European Forum for E-Business”; - Co-founder & currently SG Chairman, ISSE Conference; - Co-founder & currently Project Co-ordinator, pki Challenge - Member of the Steering Group, EESSI SG;  involved with the research&business sides of ‘e-signatures in Europe’ for some time
