  5. Fellowship • Matthew 18:19-20 • House churches, informal gatherings, dinner • A society, a communion, a brotherhood, all led by the Holy Spirit • All focused on celebration of the majesty of Jesus, the testimonies of His Great Name

  6. Breaking of Bread • May seem insignificant today, but was significant back then • Casts, classes, and backgrounds were all segregated • Mutual breaking of bread transcended cultural and societal boundaries

  7. Prayer • The horsepower of every believer • How often do you pray during fellowship? • Is it as core to your marriage as any other marital activity? • Is your prayer life strong or weak right now? • The disciples recognized that this was their position of strength

  8. Fear Coupled with Signs and Wonders • The two were linked • We have become very familiar with God, tending to complacency and a lack of reverence • Psalm 2:11, Psalm 25:14, Psalm 34:9, Prov 9:10, • Over and over, the Lord used His prophets to preach a recurring message…why don’t you fear?

  9. All things in common • There is the obvious physical implication • If you have need, why don’t you ask • If someone asks, why don’t you serve • This isn’t just superficial, it is deeper • From a spiritual perspective, do you share, in confidence, your weaknesses and pray to be healed….

  10. Sold all so that needs were met • First question….does God want you to sell everything? • Keep in mind need versus want – some needs are just wants • Be discerning first, then insure needs are met

  11. Action confirms our Faith • Time for a fearless self inventory • Do you forsake the gathering together of the saints? Do you have a steady diet of the Word? • When you gather, do you pray, have true fellowship, or just “hang out time” • Do you reverence and fear the Lord? • Are you vulnerable to others and trust worthy when someone is vulnerable • Are you willing to give of something to meet someone else’s need?
