• There are 9 moles of C for every 1 mole of C9H8O4

• Molar mass of C = 12.01 g / 1 mol

• 9 mol C x 12.01 g = 108.09 g

• Molar mass of water = 18.015 g/mol

• 4.5 g x 1 mol H2O = 0.25 mol H2O
