  1. XNAT Image Download Form Definition document

  2. Definition of the Image Download Form • Download image sessions associated with any list of subjects or scans. • Accessible via “Options” menu

  3. Pain of current design • Unnecessary to task • Unhelpful session names. • No organization by project, subject, or date. • No sorting, mass-select, or filtering • Overload of options with little meaningful organization. • Filtering in left pane doesn’t logically reduce options here. • Long list buries the “Submit” action. • No display of amount of data selected.

  4. Pain of current design • Form launches download applet … after an indeterminate period of time. • User stuck staring at a blank screen, possible timeout? • Applet time of download or size of download not displayed.

  5. More user feedback From Stephen Smith, Re: ConnectomeDB file download • Let user choose files or filetypes from sessions granularly? “I was given both DICOM and NIFTI - I think it would be good to get the user to choose which they want before the download, as they are unlikely to want both, and it's a waste of bandwidth to give both unless they want them?”

  6. Functional requirements (from Dan) • Support downloading from multiple subjects, sessions, scans, recons, assessors. • Support filtering files to download by project, scan types, recon types, or assessment types • Support filtering by resource label (DICOM, SNAPSHOTS, NIFTI, etc) • Support filtering by other characteristics (e.g. Usable/Unusable)

  7. Options • One page form vs. step-by-step wizard? • Option for flat download directory? (i.e. no folders) • “Guestimate” calculation of processing time or download time? • Behind the scenes: Store file size data in metadata, to avoid file system calls for info display?
