Operational Highlights:

  • Tuesday evening into Wednesday: Western Transects

  • June 8th, 2000: Continue Westward transects

  • Additional anomalies in crude oil fluorescence detected South-west of the Mississippi River Delta

  • 0800: Anchor in 60m of water for calibration of ES60 Single Beam

  • 1300: Underway, resumed acoustic, CTD, MVP, and water sample operations

  • 1430: Fire and Emergency Drill

  • Today’s total: survey 140 LNM, 4 CTD and 60 MVP casts

  • 1900: local position 27-52.62 N , 091-46.85 W

  • Outlook: June 11th /1000 arrive Galveston, TX Pier 21

One side project is to verify the charting accuracy of all the oil rigs along our tracks. This will be used to update the chart. Many of the small ones are not lighted.
