  1. TREK-O-BOT Saveetha Engineering College Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Guided By:- Dr.Edison Chandra Seelan Project Members:- S.Thileepan S.Jayakumar S.Yuvanarayanan S.Nallarasu

  2. What is “TREK-O-BOT” ? • Trek-O-Bot is a wall climbing robot. • A robot capable of climbing the wall using vacuum technology. • This robot sticks to wall surface and moves with its wheels to reach any desired heights.

  3. Background of this project • Though ladders, lifts helped man in reaching various heights. • Neck - wrenching heights increased the risk of people doing these jobs. • In order to help people to reach these heights without risking their lives, the need for wall climbing robot has increased. A man painting the roof. People painting the vertical wall

  4. Block diagram of “trek-O-Bot” Controls the speed

  5. Working of trek-o-bot Description of forces: • F: The suction force produced by the vacuum cup. • R: The reaction force produced due to the robot pressing against the ceiling • µR: Force due to friction between the ceiling and the robot's suction chamber. • D: Drag force. • mg: Weight of the robot  • r: Radius of the suction cup.( 16cm) • H: Distance between the Centre of mass of the robot and the ceiling Free body diagram of trek-o-bot

  6. Specifications of trek-o-bot • Adhesion Force: >8kgs • 950W vacuum motor. • Power: • 230v AC supply for vacuum motor. • 24v DC supply for motors attached to wheels. • 200rpm geared motors. • Weight:5kg.

  7. Features of trek-o-bot • Operate on any surface. • Manual operation. • Stick to walls using vacuum. • Can carry 2.5 times its weight. Principle operation of trek-o-bot.

  8. Bill of materials

  9. Benefits to the society and industry • This robot finds numerous application such as • Cleaning the window panes in sky scrapers. • Painting the walls. • Cleaning the dust on the roofs. • Surveillance and military purpose Trek-o-bot with wall cleaning apparatus

  10. Future modifications • To make a wireless trek-o-bot. • Pressure sensors on the suction chamber to findout the pressure produced. • Adding application devices (such as window washing apparatus, painting brushes).

  11. Conclusion • Trek-o- bot is simple to use and operate. • This low cost wall climbing robot is designed for commercialization. • This wall climbing robot is a boon for people and industry and can reduce the difficulties in heights . • Thus ultimate robot is here, to help you to “reach out”.
