  2. A system restore is when the computer is reverted to a previous state. It only restores some types of files for example programs and drivers. It doesn’t back up external hard drives. A system restore comes as part of the windows OS and was first included in Windows ME. It is most commonly used set a restore point on the computer before making any major changes to the system.

  3. Windows XP only restores 12% of the data stored on the drive. You can use system restore to create a system image to burn to a Compact Disc, you can then restore from this disc. This is good because if you have a hard drive failure then you will loose all the system restore points you have saved so its good to keep a backup.

  4. Other Restore Tools Rollback RX Norton Macrium Other programmes that you can used to do a System restore include Macrium reflect, Norton & Rollback RX.
