  10. Hideki Tojo: Pearl Harbor • There was a major war conflict between Japan and China. Japan wanted to expand it’s boarders and gain protection from China. • At first, the United States was aiding Japan in their efforts but then began selling weapons and supplies to China. • The U.S. did not agree with Japans efforts against China and began to decrease economic support for their war.

  13. Hideki Tojo • For years, Tojo was seen as a hero. But after the Battle of Midway and the fall of Saipan, he was forced to resign on July 18, 1944. • After Japans surrender in 1945, America demanded the arrest of Tojo and several other war criminals .
