To reduce the occurrence of human-caused fires and develop Firewise communities: Objectives • Continue to increase awareness of existing fire hazards in the interface along the Wasatch Front. • Continue to distribute Fireworks safety posters and flyers to target fireworks vendors and users. • Continue to re-establish contact with Tooele County fire managers. • Develop and coordinate key messages to be used statewide for current fire season – “Days of ’47,” Labor Day, and Hunting Season. • Provide interagency expertise in public relations and outreach to develop Firewise communities.

SHORT TERM: • Pursue video shoot with Karl Malone • Include fire danger rating graphic in newspapers • Pursue article in local papers on assessing fire danger Suggestions for Continuation LONG TERM: • Improve fire danger signs into Emmigration Canyon and along I-80 to Summit County • Look into developing local fire coops • Continue contacts with homeowners • Develop evacuation procedures • Ban fireworks sales with fireworks restrictions
