  11. Four main areas of activities: • Promotion and education: • Presentations on PU given at Technical and Agriculture Universities and Technical Schools for the „future” professionals (i.e. students, schoolboys + their teachers ) • Competition for construction students on the best thesis on PU • Presentations on PU + participation in conferences and seminars for professionals (i.e. architects, designers and specifiers etc.) • „SIPUR” web page (for professionals and end-users) • Articles for technical / professional magazines and web portals • „SIPUR” stand at construction fairs (e.g. BUDMA) 11 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  12. Four main areas of activities – cont.: • Legislation – participation in works (if possible) or opinions (at least) regarding brand new polish building regulations and changes proposed within existing ones • Technical standards – participation in works regarding new PN / PN-EN standards and changes proposed within existing ones • Insurence issues - insurence rates, formal and practical requirements regarding buildings designed and insulated with PUR i PIR products 12 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  13. Two main target groups: • Professionals (existing and future / prospects) • Architects • Designers • Specifiers • End-users 13 www.sipur.pl/firmy l

  14. Some examples of 2012 „SIPUR” activities supported by PU Europe: • Participation in BUDMA International Construction Fair (24-27 January 2012 in Poznań) • 8 promotional / technical articles on PU released in profesional magazines “MateriałyBudowlane” and “Nowoczesne hale” • Presentation on PU together with the promotional / technical article during the XIV Workshop of the Investment Supervision and Conference re. revitalization of buildings, organized by the Poznań branch of Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians (13-14 September, 2012, Wałcz) 14 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  15. Some examples of 2012 „SIPUR” activities supported by PU Europe – cont.: • Partial sponsoring, article and participation in the conference ”Engineering of Construction Projects. Flexible scenarios of sustainable growth” organized by the Institute of Civil Engineering of PoznańUniversity of Technology (26-29 September 2012; ŁagówLubuski) • Partial sponsoring of the Polish Association of Architecture StudentsOSSAannual workshop (21-28 October 2012; Lublin) • Update of the roll-up and web page of SIPUR • Advertisement in telephone book of Wielkopolska region • Translation of marketing literature of PU Europe 15 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  16. Some examples of 2012 „SIPUR” activities supported by PU Europe – cont.: • Presentationson PU for students and teachers of TechnicalUniversities and TechnicalSchools (Construction Dept.) • Kościan, March 2012 • Poznań, May and September 2012 • Kraków, November 2012 • Gliwice, December 2012 • Konin, December 2012 • Competition for construction students for the best thesis on PU application at the University of Technology Poznań • New CD’s, ball pens, PU samples, brochures, folders, note pads, USB memories etc.) for the participants of the above mentioned conferences etc. 16 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  17. The biggest „SIPUR” challenges in 2013: • Polish economy – very low growth expected • „SIPUR” budget - new members/additional funds required • Stepanfinally joined „SIPIUR” in March 2013 • Hopefully there will be some new applications after the summer brake • Are there any chances to get additional financial support from PU Europe? • Aggressive lobbing and former activities of MIWO (Polish organization of mineral wool producers – „daughter” company of EURIMA) • „Sceptical” market attitude to PU products • Changes of Polish building regulations • Technical Standards • Insurance rates 17 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  18. The biggest „SIPUR” challenges in 2013 – cont.: • Quality of insulation boards manufactured by Polish local producers (not covered by SIPUR) at the equipment for metal faced sandwich panels vs technical data presented: • Lambda value of 0,022 ? • Question about core material (PUR /PIR) ? • Launching a first / brand new production line dedicated for insulation boards is expected after the summer brake. Untill now, boards sold in Poland are delivered from abroad (e.g. Belgium, The Netherlands) or made on the equipment for metal faced sandwich panels • Requirements regarding different applications of insulation boards would be helpfull – are there such standards in EU Countries (e.g. Germany) ? 18 www.sipur.pl/firmy

  19. The biggest „SIPUR” challenges in 2013 – cont.: • Spray foam issues: • A very big number of spraying companies in Poland (200-300) • Rather small size (i.e. 2-3 men = very „flexible” in all meanings / areas) • No-brand components = poor quality in many cases • No clear message / explanation on foam type and its parameters (e.g. open or closed cells, lambda, etc.) = unsatified customers  • Outside of „SIPUR” influence such companies create a significant risk of future bad market attitude to PU products !! • Member fee - how to have some of these companies in „SIPUR” ? • Discussion within „SIPUR” on sales data colecting regarding all types of PU products together with market estimation made by specific (each) member. Data would be delivered to the layer office and go back to „SIPUR” members after market share calculations 19 www.sipur.pl/firmy
