  2. Valedictorian 2011!!! March 21 to 25 • Pick up an application package from Mrs. Cannon in the Business Office or in Room 110. April 8 • Application package is due back to Mrs. Cannon. April 15 • Letters will be given out to applicants indicating whether or not their name will appear on the voting ballot. April 19 • All potential grads will vote in the Library. April 21 • Sandalwood’s 2011 Valedictorian will be announced!!

What Do We Look For in a Valedictorian? • Academic Achievement – Minimum 80% Grade 12 Average recommended • Positive School Involvement • Community Involvement and Volunteer Efforts • Public Speaking Ability • Writing Ability Where Do We Get the Information? • Your completed Application Package including a 250 word essay on “The Role of a Valedictorian”. • School Records spanning all four years of high school • Teacher Comments

Moonlight Serenade- PROM 2011 Where: This year prom is being held at the Garden Banquet and Convention Centre When: Friday, June 03 How Much: Depends… If you pay by the end of March Break (Sun., March 20) - $85 If you pay after the March Break - $100 Even later in the semester – who knows if there will be tickets left for you!  *The same applies for guest tickets

  5. What does your prom ticket include? • Your prom ticket cost will include: • Rental of the hall • Photographer • Prom promotion • Graduation gift • Décor for the hall • Your formal meal for the evening • Student awards for the evening • Deejay • Supervision (Peel Police) • And much more….

  6. Final Notes on Prom • We encourage each of you to attend prom this year – it is a final celebration of the last four years of hard work and dedication. • Please ensure that you pay for your ticket and any guest ticket as soon as possible as tickets are limited this year.

  7. Commencement 2011 • When: Wednesday June 29th • Where : Sperenza Banquet Hall- Brampton • Who: YOU!!!

Fees and Gowns • Commencement Student Fee: $45.00 • $45.00 – Allows us to rent the facility, decorate, and rent gowns for students (Students keep Cap and Tassel as memento) • Payment Timelines: Students can begin payment and submit their cashless printouts along with their gown order forms to Mr. Z. Patel /R. Singh in the science office effective immediately. (time of day to hand in: 2nd ½ 3rd or 4th, or after school) • Gown Order forms: Found on My-Class and must be printed out to hand-in with printed cashless receipt. • http

  9. Important Timelines • March 1st: Cashless account up and running • Make online Payment and submit along with Gownorder form, Z. Patel and R. Singh in Science. • May 2nd: Gown order and Commencement Payment Absolute Deadline.

Sandalwood Heights Secondary School • Graduation Cap and Gown Order Form • COMMENCEMENT IS WEDNESDAY JUNE 29 2011 • You will graduate this year if you earn your 30th credit including all compulsories, successful completion of the literacy test and 40 hours of Community Involvement by June 2011. • All graduates will wear a graduation gown and commemorative cap at Commencement. In order to plan for your graduation, the Commencement Committee needs: • You to pay $45.00 to cover the cost of renting your gown and purchasing • your commemorative cap. You are required to pay your fee by the • May 2nd deadline. • You must pay your fee on Cashless Schools. Once you have done so, attach the Cashless receipt to this order form and submit your form to the science office (Mr. Z. Patel or Mr. R.
