  2. PSA Project PSAs --   These announcements are designed to inform the viewing audience of issues concerning their health, safety, welfare and happiness. PSAs deal with a variety of issues, including concerns for families, children and education.

  3. PSA Project • PSA Project • You are to produce a 30-second PSA. • Project Due Date TBA

  4. PSA Project • What you need to do: • Select a topic. • Get topic approved by Teacher • Write a script (type) • Get visuals – Video and/or stills • Prepare a detailed storyboard • Prepare a Floor Plan for studio taping • Set your date for studio taping

  5. PSA Project • Topics • Search Internet for topic ideas • ASPCA • MADD • Seatbelt Safety • Education • Public Library

PSA Project • Studio Recording • Your PSA will be taped in the studio • A studio crew consisting of Comm 1 students will produce your PSA following your storyboard. • The studio crew will include the following: • Director • Technical Director – Switcher Operator • Character Generator Operator • Audio

  8. PSA Project • Studio Recording • Teleprompter Operator • Tape Operator • Three camera Operators • Floor Manager

  9. PSA Project • Studio Recording • Students will rotate studio positions. • Students taping their PSA will exit the session with a completed PSA. • Organization is extremely important

  10. PSA Project • Organization • You must be organized. • Know exactly how you want your PSA to look. • Know your script. • Have B-roll ready and imported into Tricaster. • Script typed into Teleprompter/Cue Cards. • You must rehearse your script.

  11. PSA Project • Warning • Students who fail to follow the guidelines for preparing their PSA and properly preparing themselves for the studio taping will receive a zero for this project. • Your PSA is to be 30-seconds. Not a half-second longer.
