La tarea - ¿Por qué? • Homework - Why? • Homework as “busywork” vs. study, review & preparationforclass • Neverpunitive • Counts as onequiz (approx. 10% of quarter grade) • H.W. grade begins as 100% • -5 pointseachmissedassignment • Mustbe complete or show sufficienteffort • Cannotbemade up unlessaccompaniedby a (reasonable) note orabsence • Pleasedon’tmake excuses – HW teachesresponsibility as well as Spanish • HW isimportantforclassparticipation • ANY classworksheetnotcompleted IN CLASS mustbefinished at home • Homeworkisreviewed in class • Studentsshouldmakecorrections and learnfrommistakes

  8. En la claseIn the class Attendance counts – you need to be present to learn Don’t be late! Keep bathroom trips to a minimum – class goes on without you NO eating in class. Water bottles are fine. ` Everyone will participate – I know it’s not easy DON’T MAKE FUN of your classmates – we’re all in this together Pay attention and take responsibility for your education. Grades are not given, they are earned! Do not disrupt the class NO CELL PHONES – they will be confiscated RELAX, ENJOY, LEARN & APPRECIATE SPANISH

  9. Ayuda Extra, pruebas y exámenes • Extra Help, quizzes and tests • Extra helpwill be available DAILY at 8:00. Takeadvantage! • come with SPECIFIC questionsforclarification • TestingdayisWednesdayfor a major test. • Quizzes can begivenonanyday. • Therewill NOT be pop quizzes!
