Munich regional European mobility net „Pro Mobility - Pro Dual „ Bavarian Ministry of Education - Staatsinstitut für Schulqualität und Bildungsforschung - Leonardo office (since 2008) Bavarian Department of Trade and Industry (since 2009) Bavarian Ministry of Labor (planned from Autumn2009 ) Chamber of Commerce for Munich and upper Bavaria (since 2007) Chamber of Crafts for Munich and upper Bavaria (since 2007) School of Education - European office- T U Munich (since 2008) Munich School department-Vocational ecucation and further education- European office (since 2007)

  4. 2.What can we offer ? Work placements in the Munich region in companies municipal offices schools and Pre-schools offices TUM (University) offices in the ministry of social affairs…

  5. 3. How do we select and motivate employers ? We talk to them When they join us for meetings or conferences, we tell them who arranged the meeting or conference… If there is a need in another department office and we recommend a student from Finland… If there is a request from a Finnish student for a special work placement we get in contact with the potential employer and discuss the possibilities….

  6. 4. What do weexpect? English andbasic German - itdepends on theemployer Mobility Flexibility Autonomy High motivation Team spirit…

Practical example (1) European office Munich ( now TUM School of Eduation i.Gr.) we mail a short description of our working place to CIMO Cimo put it on a Database… students get in contact with us via Email together we fix the dates for the working period in Munich we ask the students if they need any support for…accommodation…

Practical example (2) Student gets information about the work placement via Email it´s helpful to get detailed information before they arrive about what work they want to do- so that we can match it with what we can offer … when they arrive they get detailed information about the work placement company and schedule

  11. 6.Why do we prefer Finnish students? High level in general education languages… social competence, sense of responsibility, ability to work on teams, stability,openness, honesty, capacity… technical skills

Havea look at ECVET- Leonardo pilot projects develop „mobility modules“ It´s helpful for an empoyer to have an outcome-orientated short description of the working period of the student Build up networks (regional- european) for workplacements Develop or link with existing databases information tools with basic information about the receiving City/ Region/ Country; regional cultures and traditions, good and cheap accommodation, addresses of student clubs in the region….

  15. 9. Impact ofthefinancialcrisis State andmunicipalinstitutionsandschools NO impact Private companies Itdepends, but weexpectthey will increasethenumbersof „trainees“ becausetheyaremore flexible andcheaper….
