  5. Characteristics of Grant • Independent Contractor • One-year: Oct 1 – Sept 30 • Reimbursable: mid-Jan

  6. Applications • Unlimited number • Amount up to total

  7. Critical Element Partnerships

  8. Program Funding Categories • Food • Health Care • Housing/Utilities

  9. Health Care • Physical or Dental • Diagnostics and medications allowed • Mental health, substance abuse, vision care and eyeglasses not permitted

  10. Housing/Utilities • Significantly limited ability to acquire or maintain • Provide shelter or housing or payment assistance, such as rental assistance or down payment • Assistance w/payment or reduction of utilities

  11. Housing/Utilities • Housing must be acquired/attained/maintained within the grant period • Referral, representation, treatment or detention not permitted

  12. Food • Significantly limited ability to acquire food for own consumption • Deliver/provide food, food-growing or food preserving • Not a snack program • See Addendum #1 for Best Practices
