  1. Top 6 Guidelines for CBSE School Assessments In the existing Indian education system, rote learning is a major concern. To improve the education system, the Central Board of Secondary Education has suggested the competency-based assessment framework to strengthen the existing education system in the country. This competency-based assessment is said to improve the overall learning outcomes and also replace the rote learning method as envisaged by the National Education Policy. CBSE schools have started practising the NEP. Some of the top CBSE schools in Bachupally, like Ambitus School, have also implemented the same. You can confirm your eligibility for admission with the school. This assessment framework has been implemented to improve the quality of teaching. This framework has been designed and developed after analyzing the current learning and assessment model in CBSE schools. It ensures the approach of school to an excellent education for all children and enables teachers to deliver education that best suits the needs of their students. This new framework will replace the rote learning model of the education system and will focus on assessing students based on their competencies needed to solve day-to-day problems. The new system implements the practice of awarding grades and replaces it with marks. This policy gives a clear direction to all assessment techniques to ensure that assessment is used as a tool to inform planning, track progress, and raise standards. This new assessment system also helps to bring out uniformity in the pattern of examination across all CBSE schools. This new uniform assessment system will help students need to migrate from one school to another. With the first step in this direction, the Board has also issued a format of the report card along with its circular. According to the board, the top 6 guidelines for CBSE school assessment will be as follows: 1.Scholastic performance: Scholastic performance will be evaluated through written examinations and have a combination of periodic tests, notebook submission, and subject enrichment activity. Here, both marks and grades will be awarded for individual subjects. 2.Co-scholastic performance: Grades will be awarded for non-scholastic performance in three categories of — Work Education, Art Education, and Health and Physical Education. 3.Discipline: Grades will be awarded to students after evaluating their performance regarding discipline, including attendance, sincerity, behaviour, and values. 4.For class 9th, the pattern of examination will be similar to that of class X. It will have only one exam at the end of the academic year. Out of a total of 100 marks, 80 marks have been assigned to written exams while the remaining 20 have been divided into periodic tests (10 marks), notebook submission (5 marks), and subject enrichment activity (5 marks). 5.Classes 6 to 7 will also have the same format of assessment. Students of these classes will have to appear for exams twice a year, at the end of each Term. Questions of the first term exam will be based on the syllabus covered during that term and a small percentage of questions in the second term exam will be based on the first term. This new pattern of examinations will prepare students to handle the heavy academic workload of classes 11 and 12. 6.A uniform assessment system is much beneficial for students whose parents have transferable jobs to migrate from one school to another easily. The marking system will motivate students better than the grading system, as it gives them a fair idea of where they stand. Students must follow the habit to stay in consistent touch with their subjects and should study on regular basis. This will help you to handle any form of assessment at any level.
