  1. What is a Pump- Know Its Types and Uses ******************************************************************* A pump is a mechanical device used to transfer liquids from one point to another by imparting energy supplied to the liquid. The prime mover can be an electric motor, steam engine, or turbine. The power required to pump the liquid depends on the quantity and head to be lifted with the viscosity of the liquid. Let us learn about the types of an industrial pump AODD Pump: The air operated double diaphragm pump is used for endless applications in mining, industrial, and general plant service AODD pumps are mainly used where electricity isn’t available. They are also used for chemical transfer, food manufacturing, coal mines, or wherever the liquid being pumped has high viscosity. Polypropylene Pump:PP Pump is a single horizontal molded pump and corrosion- resistant. These pumps are applied to the water treatment plant, filter press for dyes, chemicals, re-scaling of tubes, scrubbing of corrosive gases, paper, pulp industries, pickling plants, caustic soda plants, fertilizer plants, etc. PP Pumps are available in different mounting constructions like monoblock pumps and vertical pumps. Gland packing is used for PTFE impregnated or reinforced as per application for continuous service. Pump casing is provided with an external metal ring for construction stability. All non-pp parts are lined with anti-corrosive paint to prevent a corrosive atmosphere.

  2. Hydraulic pressure pump: A diagnostic technique to perform a high-pressure hydraulic test of pipes, tubes, vessels, and boilers. A Hydraulic pressure test pump is used for testing the leakages and defects from the cross-country pipelines, valves, castings, and components. It is used to check the component to be tested and filled with liquid, either with water or oil. With the help of a positive displacement reciprocating plunger pump, the pressure of the test component is increased to a set point and held at a predetermined time. Benefits of using a Pump There are multiple benefits of using a pump: There are chances of fewer frictional losses. Almost noiseless. The construction of the pump is straightforward. No drive seal and, therefore, no leakage in the pump. Minimum damage when compared to other pumps. The above listed are only a few types of pumps. To know more about these pumps and their specifications, contact us immediately.
