The Many Tools in the Instructional Technology PD ToolkitFacilitating the learning of teachers in the area of instructional technology requires a great deal of professional development in very limited amounts of time. Attend this session to explore various online, face-to-face, and blended models of professional development that have been used to enhance teacher knowledge and skill development necessary when integrating technology. MSET Common Ground 2012

Face to Face • Will teachers attend if there is no stipend? • How will we structure the learning so that the focus is on the integration of technology and the opportunity exist for application? • Who can best facilitate the learning experience? • What is the topic and how does one know the need exists? • How do you meet the needs of all learners in one session? MSET Common Ground 2012

Virtual • Do we have the hardware to support system wide implementation? • Do we have technical resources to support troubleshooting? • Do we have the staff and skills to develop online courses/workshop? • How will we make virtual learning opportunities available for novice users? • How will we support learners in completing tasks in a timely manner? • Will this opportunity reach K-12 teachers? Blended • How do we maximize the face to face time utilizing virtual environments? • What is the role of facilitator and how can they be provided professional development to serve in this role? • How do we determine what content and or learning takes place virtually with that which should take place face to face? MSET Common Ground 2012

  8. Just in Time • Are there resources available to support a users need? • How do we get teachers to naturally seek the resources available? • How do we empower teachers to realize that they can meet their own instructional technology needs? MSET Common Ground 2012
