  1. Dr Amarjit Mishra Sheds Light on the Link Between Air Pollution and Asthma Exacerbations Scientists such as Dr. Amarjit Mishra, Angelica L Tiotiu, DenislavaNideva and Michael Guarnieri have been found to make elaborate efforts in this direction.

  2. Several mechanisms explain the relationship between air pollution and asthma exacerbations. Recent research by prominent researchers such as Amarjit Mishra, ex Assistant Professor, Auburn University has supported the view that air pollution can trigger inflammation in the airways, leading to increased swelling and narrowing of the air passages (also known as allergen-induced asthma).

  3. According to a new study carried out by Amarjit Mishra of Auburn University, air pollutants or allergens such as dust mites can produce oxidative stress in the airways, leading to increased inflammation and damage to airway cells. This can aggravate asthma symptoms and precipitate asthma exacerbations.

  4. This means that even minor triggers that would not normally cause asthma symptoms can lead to an exaggerated response in individuals with asthma, leading to asthma exacerbations. Air pollution can increase the sensitivity of the airways, leading to heightened bronchial hyperresponsiveness.

  5. Amarjit Mishra has further highlighted that the relationship between air pollution and asthma exacerbations can be complex and may vary depending on individual susceptibility, duration and intensity of exposure, and other factors.
