  1. JESUS IDENTIFIED September 8, 2013 Bible Passages John 1:19-51 Explore the Bible: Fall 2013 KJV Series

  2. Imagine that one weekend you were to stroll around the nearing shopping mall and randomly ask a hundred people this question: Can you tell me in a single sentence who Jesus is? What types of responses might you hear? Probably some respondents would reply that Jesus is their Savior and Lord. Others might respond with a biblical truth such as Son of God, Messiah, or the Light of the World. Still others might say Jesus was a good man who lived a long time ago and started the Christian religion. Or that He was an ancient religious teacher who was executed by His enemies but venerated by His followers. How surprised would you be if a significant percentage of your survey respondents said either they didn’t know who Jesus is or that your question wasn’t important to them? In today’s increasingly secular world, such answers might be more commonplace than we would imagine. That’s all the more reason, then, to explore carefully the biblical testimony about who Jesus is. In particular, we can learn much from titles Jesus was given in the Scriptures. We’ll consider three in this lesson: the Lamb of God, the Messiah, and the Son of Man.

  3. FOCAL PASSAGES I Can Testify About Jesus ………………………………………………John 1:19-28 I Can Be Forgiven………………………………………………………..John 1:29-36 I Can Trust God’s Promises……………………………………………..John 1:37-46 I Can See God Working…………………………………………………John 1:47-51 QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER Why do you think some people have difficulties believing that Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross as the Lamb of God is sufficient to forgive their sins? In what ways do you see God working through Jesus the Son of Man in the details of your life? In your church? Do you have a friend or family member who is a skeptic about Jesus and the gospel?
