CBCS • DHS Initiative • FEMA National Preparedness Directorate, Capabilities Division • Science and Technology Directorate • Goals: • Analyze the cyber security needs of state and locals • Bridge the gap in coordination efforts amongst federal cyber security programs • Increase the awareness of state and local stakeholders to cyber security needs and available resources

Cyber Security Need of State and Locals • CBCS convened a group of Cyber Security experts and state and local officials • Need Identified – cyber security education and outreach to: • Raise Awareness • Increase Capacity • Non-Technical information and resources for senior officials and state and local agencies and organizations

  5. Technical Assistance Package • Providing state and local senior officials with a clear, concise and achievable approach to improve local government's cyber security posture • Increase cyber security awareness and capacity of all state and local end users

  6. Core Components • Focused Documentation • Informational Training Videos and Webinars • Relevant Tools & Technologies

  7. Target Audience • Public Sector • Elected officials • Agency/department heads • Policy making authorities • IT staff
