International Bank for Reconstruction and Development 1945 Provides loans to development countries with average incomes. Multilateral Agency for investiment guarantee 1988 Provides guarantees to foreign investors against the risk trade International Centre for Settlement investiment Agreements 1966 Provides disputes solution between foreign investors and the countries in which the investment is made. IFC is part of World Bank Group

IFC strategyin Albania IFC strategy focuses on : • improving the business climate; • improvement of infrastructure sectors with the participation of the private sector, including local level; • Participation of private sector in building a sustainable economy in the sectors of efficiencyenergy, renewable energy, clean products, in solid waste management by minimizing climate change; • strengthening the banking sector that operates in the country, and • investment in different sectors, with priority to tourism, agro business, education, health.

  10. IFC investment in Albania IFC portfolio in Albania is about 213 million dollars in the following areas : • Financial Market • Oil and gas • manufacturer sectors • telecommunication IFC is currently reviewing the possibility of investing in sectors: infrastructure, energy, logistics, tourism.
