Apply for Queensland College of Teachers’ (QCT) registration. www.qct.edu.au Complete the Partners for Success Expression of Interest form. Send completed form to: Email - teachindigenousschools.farnthqld@dete.qld.gov.au Fax - 07 40465260 Post - Partners for Success Identified Indigenous Schools Process, Far North Queensland Region, PO Box 6094, Cairns, Queensland, 4870 5. Your information is registered and used by regional human resource staff to consider for suitable vacancies in Identified Indigenous Schools. Human resource staff determine with Principals, the school’s staffing needs. Applications remain current for a period of 12 months. Teacher Country Area Relieving Strategy (CARS) Complete a Teacher transfer application through MyHR (and all of the Partners for Success sections). Enter the words ‘CARS Transfer’ in the comments section. Note Transfer timelines. Senior teacher Remote Area Relieving Placement (RARP) Complete an Application for Remote Area Relieving Placement form (and all the Partners for Success sections). Forms are forwarded through your Principal to the human resource staff in your Region. Note Transfer timelines. Teacher Transfer Complete a Teacher Transfer Application through OnePortal’sMyHR Recruitment (and all of the Partners for Success sections). Note transfer timelines. • As a graduate or general applicant, you may be employed either in a temporary capacity or you may be offered a permanent position ‘pending successfully passing the P4S process’. Offers of employment are made by a regional human resource officer. If made a ‘perm pending P4S’ offer; then • Initially you will be employed on a temporary engagement; • After one or two terms the Principal of your school or his or her delegate provides information about your: • Teaching expertise • Ability to live in a remote community and follow protocols eg. Alcohol Management Plan • Partnerships with community • Ability to be a team member and work as part of a team. • Principal’s report is sent to the P4S recruitment officer for endorsement. Teachers are notified in writing through their Principal of the P4S outcome. Teacher Transfer / RARP / CARS web link Teacher transfers - OnePortal - DET • Applications are assessed by a panel. This panel includes: • Principal (Chairperson) • Queensland Teachers Union Representative • Aboriginal community representative; and a • Torres Strait Islander community representative • The Panel obtains information from your current Principal. • Applicants are notified in writing of the panel’s decision through their Principal. Successful Negotiation between regional human resource staff to fill vacancies on transfer / RARP / CARS. Transfer is based on type of vacancy, teacher accommodation, ‘fit’ for school context. Other Not recommended at this stage. Panel was unable to define an outcome (either Successful or Unsuccessful) and has recommended to reapply again in 12 months. Feedback is available from the panel chair. Unsuccessful Feedback is available from the panel chair. There is a no appeal process. May reapply after 12 months. • Successful • Permanency may be offered by regional human resource staff if all employment requirements are completed eg QCT registration and suitability assessment ranking. Unsuccessful Decision is made by the P4S Panel based on information provided by your Principal. You will be required to move from the community. There is no appeal process.
