  2. Air Cargo Security

  3. British Airways • Safety & Security are Our Top Priorities • UK, Host State & BA Security Measures • Security Investment, Training, Audits • Participation in Worldwide Program Development

  4. Security Erosion • As time from event increases, security awareness decreases • Complacency is the greatest challenge to effective security

  5. Security Theater • Weakest Link • Measures Should Be: • Appropriate to the threat • Layered • Regularly Reviewed

  6. USA Security • HR1 is driving the 100% cargo screening requirement. • Technology remains a limiting factor • The Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) is sensible and should be supported by industry. • The entire supply chain must be secured

  7. C-TPAT • BA is a certified C-TPAT participant • We have been successfully validated (audited) • C-TPAT participants are required to survey their supply chain partners regarding C-TPAT participation • Our SVN number is briAir152796

  8. Security Checklist • Ward off complacency • Continued industry involvement in development of air cargo security programs • Differentiate between ‘Security Theater’ and the real thing to have the most effective measures in place • World governments need to harmonize security measures, terminology and equipment

  9. Thank You.
