  2. Issue • Focus on Standard Mail with: • Requested IHD (In-Home Date); and • Arrives at DDU past IHD or Event Date • Need for “Standardized” verbiage, format, placement • Relative to mailer requested IHD • Instructions for disposition if received past IHD or Event Date

  3. Desired Results • Mailers will specify requested IHD on mailpiece • In consistent location • Using standard verbiage (clear and concise) • Along with disposition instructions

  4. Results - Definitions • PIHD – Past In-Home Date • Received after requested In-Home Date, but • Before Sale or Event Date • PED – Past Event/Expiration Date • Received after Sale or Event advertised, or • After a Published Expiration Date

  8. This establishes last day mailer authorizes for delivery and authorizes withdrawal & disposal after specified date. AFTER 8/20 REFER TO PAGE # REQUESTED IN HOME 8/12-14 Mailer’s Request for Withdrawal or Disposal • Option 3 (Modified Option 2)

  9. Results • Obtained Industry Feedback • Standardized verbiage, location, font • Options for providing instructions • Surveys provided • Returned by June 2, 2003 (instructions on survey) • Communication plan • Implementation for Fall mailing season
