Increased Officer Safety • Two officers on every contact, helps provide safety • vehicle operations vs. radio traffic • Officer assignments increase safety: • Driver: Obtains PC for traffic stop • Passenger: Looks for seatbelt violation • Driver: Approaches suspect vehicle • Passenger: Fills out citation/operates radio
Increased Productivity • 12 to 14 seatbelt citations per hour • pre-flighted citations (during breaks) • Time efficiency • shorter traffic stops • Decrease in patrol officers time • Decreases fuel costs • ($3.65/gallon {what a joke!})
