  4. What is fhsaa? • We are the governing body for interscholastic athletics in the state of Florida. We are a not-for-profit corporation that, while not appointed by the Florida Legislature, cooperates with the Legislature and the Florida Department of Education in governing interscholastic athletics.

  5. What is Fhsaa? • Purpose • Provides leadership for the development, supervision and promotion of interscholastic athletic programs sponsored by its member schools. • Participation in these programs enriches the educational experience of qualified student-athletes by providing them with opportunities to compete in an equitable, sportsmanlike and wholesome manner. • Fundamental Belief • Interscholastic athletic programs play a vital role in the education of students who participate in them. • Through their participation in interscholastic athletics, students are provided character-building opportunities to demonstrate • Honesty • Integrity • Respect • Caring • Cooperation • Trustworthiness • Leadership • Tolerance • Personal responsibility FHSAA Bylaw 1.2 FHSAA Bylaw 1.5

  8. SAAC Mission Statement “We work to represent the best interests of all student-athletes by presenting their concerns to the FHSAA, thereby developing initiatives for future improvement. Our goal is to promote the advancement of sportsmanship and integrity by fostering an ethical, safe, competitive environment on and off the field.”
