  3. Water and Sewage • Proper sanitary controls pertaining to the water supply system and sewage and liquid waste disposal systems are necessary in all types of food establishments to prevent the contamination of food and the creation of public health hazards.

  4. Water Systems • Rome's water system provided a constant supply to centrally located areas, in contrast to modern systems which deliver water on demand to individual connections.

  5. Sewage Systems • Sewage system was first built in the Roman empire. These stood of channels dug in the earth, which directed the water from the houses and baths through the streets, out of the city. As these channels were uncovered yet, they could have been awfully smelly. Romans had also water pipe systems in some of their cities.
