JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria

To get through an IIT is a dream for most of the engineering aspirants. These coveted institutions grant students admissions based on a two-tier entrance examination; namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced.   1. JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria To get through an IIT is a dream for most of the engineering aspirants. These coveted institutions grant students admissions based on a two-tier entrance examination; namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The preparation for next year is already popped up and students have started studying for the same. JEE Main 2017 will be conducted in both the online and offline mode. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body for JEE Main 2017. Every year new rules and regulations are update and revised. For all the JEE aspirants, the JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria is as follows: JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria Date of birth  JEE aspirants born either on or after October 01, 1992 are eligible for JEE Main 2017.  Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are given a 5-year relaxed period i.e. candidates born on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible. Percentage in class 12 or qualifying exam  Class 12 must include the Physics and Mathematics  Any one of the following must have been studied as an optional subject – Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Biotechnology  A minimum score of 50% (minimum) is a must in ALL subjects Number of attempts A candidate is eligible for a maximum number of 3 attempts for JEE Main 2017. Year of clearing the qualifying exam Candidates who have passed class 12 in 2015-2016 or are attempting the exam in 2017, are eligible for JEE Main 2017 Candidates who have passed class 12 in 2014 (or before) or are attempting the exam in 2018, are NOT eligible for JEE Main 2017 Candidates who have passed class 12 in 2014 and did not qualify that year, but qualified in 2015, are NOT eligible for JEE Main 2017 Minimum number of subjects, studied in class 12 or the qualifying examination    In order to qualify for JEE Main 2017, a candidate, must have studied a minimum of 5 subjects. The essential combinations for admission to B.E./B.Tech. & B. Arch./B. Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs, are as follows:

Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Exam Course 1.Language 2.Physics 3.Mathematics 4.Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject) 5.Any other subject.With at least 45% (40 % in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) marks in above subjects taken together. B.E/B.Tech Mathematics subject along with 50% marks in total including five subjects. B.Arch./B.Planning JEE Main 2017 list of qualifying examination:  10+2 system – Must be conducted by a recognised central or state board e.g. Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.  Pre-university examination conducted by a recognised board  Final examination of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy  National Institute of Open Schooling – Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of 5 subjects  Public schools, boards, or universities, in India or abroad that have 10+2 qualifying exam by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)  Vocational examination -H.S.C [Only for Admission to IITs]  Recognised diploma from the AICTE or a state board of technical education (minimum 3 years) [Only for Admission to IITs]  Advanced (A) Level – (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) General Certificate Education [Only for Admission to IITs]  Geneva – High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office [Only for Admission to IITs] Provisions for PwD  JEE aspirants, must fill in the kind of disability and the percentage of disability in the JEE Main 2017 application form  Candidates that have a disability margin of above 40%, are given the option of a reader or scribe. This can either be given by the candidate or a request for the same can be sent to the superintendent

If the scribe or reader is identified by the superintendent, then the candidate would be allowed to meet the person one day prior to the examination, to verify suitability and so on Compensatory time of 1-hour will be allotted to candidates with 40% or more disability. This extra time given to the candidate is if he/she prescribes to the services of a scribe or reader. Boost your JEE Main 2017 scores with regular revision and practice tests.
