Overview • The EOTC trip to Yangshuo is run by experienced teachers from YCIS in partnership with INSIGHT Adventures who provide us with the Itinerary in your booklet. • 37 students (23 girls and 14 boys) – 4 staff • This booklet contains a lot of the information in the presentation but in more detail. E.g. School medical insurance policy

  4. Getting Ready • Check you have all the items you need on the packing list. • Check your passport, identity cards and visas are in date. • BRING IN EVERYTHING YOU HAVE FOR TRAVEL • Passports • Visa Cards • HK Identity Cards etc

  5. Packing List • INSIGHT Adventures will email you the list when you register online. • It is also in your booklet! • Students need no more than 500RMB for the whole trip. • Between 200 and 250 would be fine.

  7. Visas and Passports • BRING ALL DOCUMENTS TO MR.LEAF BETWEEN MONDAY 30TH MAY AND THURSDAY 2ND JULY. • THEY MUST BE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS NOT PHOTOCOPIES AND VALID FOR THE DATES OF TRAVEL.

  8. Electrical Equipment • Students are not required to bring any electrical equipment. • Phones – If they are seen by a teacher they will be taken from the student and returned at the end of the trip. • MP3, iPods, Music Players – May be used on the plane and long bus journeys (there are 2 of these) • iPads,Gaming Devices, PSPs, Gameboys – Not allowed at all. Will be immediately confiscated.

  9. Why? • Safety – There will be a number of important instructions given to students on this trip. We cannot afford for a distraction to be caused by any of the previous items. • Contact from/to home – If a parent needs to contact their child you can ring me or Mr. Watson who will have our phones on us at all times. • Email and Website – There will be regular communication from the teachers via email and published on www.leafmaths.wikispaces.com/eotc

  10. Departure • Our flights are • On Monday 6th June please arrive at school by 7.30am at the latest. • Students should bring some money to get food at airport.

  11. Arrival • We are scheduled to arrive at Guilin airport at 12.20pm on Monday. • We then board a bus for around 2 hours to Yangshuo. • Once we have arrived in Yangshuo and I have internet access, I will send an email to parents informing of our safe arrival.

  23. Journal • Students will receive Booklet 3 just before the trip which contains activities for them to do in “quiet time”. • Just before going to sleep would be an ideal time for students to complete this.

  24. Returning home • Our flight leaves Guilin Airport at 5.55pm and is scheduled to arrive at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at 8.10pm. • We should arrive back at YCIS Gubei Campus at approximately 9.15pm. • Please make arrangements for your child to return safely home from school. • They will be very tired! (And so will the teachers!)
