You will never get out of it alive.” – Elbert Hubbard Word of the Day We couldn’t tell what the creature was that was running through the forest. The whangdoodle was interesting though.

Direct Object • Direct Object • Receives the action of a verb. It answers the question whom? Or what? • After an action verb • Example: I gave a gift to you. • Example: Peeta gave the bread to Katniss.
Indirect Object • Indirect Object • The person or thing that receives the direct object. • Example: I sent a letter to my cousin. • Example: Santa gave me a really awesome present.
Subject-Verb Agreement • Subject-Verb Agreement • If the subject is plural, the verb should indicate that. If the subject is singular, the verb should also indicate that. • A collective noun is treated as singular subject. • Example: We (are/is) playing a game. • Example: They (have been/has been) expecting a velociraptor. • Example: The school of fish (are/is) swimming toward the ocean.
Slap That! • You will be divided into two teams. • One person from each team comes up and has to slap the verb that agrees with the subject. The fastest person to slap the CORRECT verb will earn a point for their team. Slap the wrong verb, and you lose a point. • The winning team gets an option: • Treats? • Epic Win Passes?
