  10. Yoga Course Outline Day 10 of the Yoga Teacher Training is when you transition to your self-practice. This is called Mysore style where you and your fellow trainees will practice in the same room but on your own. During Mysore, the teacher will work on a one-on-one basis, providing you personal feedback and guidance to improve your practice and go deeper in your body.. We consider this style of practice the Heart of Yoga. Upon graduating, you will be able to draw from your own experience and wisdom offering yoga teachings to your future students.

  11. What is AshtangaVinyasa Yoga? AshtangaVinyasa yoga is the physical yoga practice descended from the Ashtanga Yoga lineage, an ancient philosophy of yoga over 5,000 years old. Ashtanga, meaning ‘eight limbs’, is a spiritual discipline that follows an eight-stage cultivation process, of which the yoga postures, known as ‘asanas’, are part. Our 200hr teacher training focuses on the core book The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, a compilation of ancient scriptures where Ashtanga Yoga was first delineated. Considered one of the foundations of classical yoga philosophy, The Yoga Sutras are the basis of many yoga and meditation practices today. While it is recommended you are familiar with main principles of The Yoga Sutras before your training, it is not compulsory, as classes will go into in-depth analysis.

  12. AshtangaVinyasa AshtangaVinyasa is a physical practice of yoga, developed originally in Mysore India by the late PattabhiJois. The system of practice is defined by the connection of breath with movement in a flowing sequence. Asanasare performed in a specific order, whereby each pose prepares the body for the next. Through regular practice, benefits include increased strength and flexibility while encouraging discipline and a focussed mind. A practice as much of the mind as it is of the body; AshtangaVinyasa yoga is ultimately a moving meditation.

  13. AshtangaVinyasa The AshtangaVinyasa system has 6 series. In our 200hr teacher training we focus on the Primary Series, teaching a modified one-hour version that takes you through key postures. Classes are energetic and fast-paced, combining sun salutations, a series of standing poses, set inversions and seated poses, all linked by a Vinyasa sequence. As classes are dynamic and at times challenging, we recommend a strong prior yoga practice of at least four to six months.

  14. Mysore-style Yoga During the training, you will learn and practice Mysore yoga. This Ashtanga-style of yoga is self-led, meaning students will practice on their own, at their own pace. Mysore yoga is highly meditative; the self-led style allows for inward focus and heightened awareness of breath and individual movement. At the end of the training, you also have your own memorised practice that you can use as a basis to recreate and teach wherever you go.
