  1. PUSHKAR FAIRS

  2. PUSHKAR TOUR The tranquil city of Pushkar is known to be a spiritual city and is often visited as a popular stop over destination in Rajasthan, mostly while traveling by road between Jaipur and Udaipur or Jodhpur. It is located on the edge of the desert and is frequently visited by a number of the devotees during the famous Pushkar Fair. Pushkar is also known as ‘the rose garden of Rajasthan’ as the essence of the famous Pushkar rose is exported across the world.Pushakarfair is the world's largest camel fair.

  3. What to See The major attraction of Pushkar is the Pushkar Lake which is considered to be a sacred lake. Because of this holy lake, this town has become a place of Hindu pilgrimage. It is believed that Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe when dropped a lotus from his hand into the vale, a lake emerged in that place. Nestled in the folds of the Aravalli range, this artificial lake has been created by building a dam and has 52 bathing ghats (steps leading into the water) and the water around each ghat is believed to possess special medicinal powers. Pushkar has many temples and the most famous among all is the Temple of Lord Brahma. The temple is one of very few existing temples which has a life-size idol of Lord Brahma. Devotees and sages visit this temple after taking a ceremonial sacred bath in the Pushkar lake.

  4. Best Time to visit Pushkar fair is hosted mostly during the month of November and hence is over-crowded. Unless one intends to see the fair, one can avoid the dates around Pushkar Fair to visit this city. The small town has only a few good hotels and is very difficult to get accommodation during the festive period unless one books months in advance. Also the hotel’s prices soar very high due to the festival. Beginning of December can be a good time with pleasant climate and temperatures ranging between 10 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius. Other months considered good for travel to Pushkar are January, February and start of March.
