  1. American Ninja Warrior is the United States version of the show. Originally integrated with Sasuke, it was at one point the G4 network’s highest rated show. As of season 4, American Ninja Warrior’s popularity has allowed it to move to the NBC network and expand as a stand-alone spin-off with a full replica course in Las Vegas, although Americans have continued to enter Sasuke even after the inception of ANW. Adopted from a Ninja Warrior TV show, American ninja warrior has come a long way to become what it is today. Initially known as American Ninja Challenge, it was a video submission series where contestants would submit the video by themselves. Started out on G4Tv channel which was a network with the company’s local group, it did successfully broadcast the first three seasons and since then it became one of the most popular shows. The popularity of Sasuke has led to the creation of a number of spin-off shows and international versions of the show. Kunoichi, perhaps the most well- known spin-off, is a version of Sasuke restricted to female competitors with an emphasis on speed, balance, and stability.

  2. In season 4, the American Ninja Warrior TV show was aired in both G4tv and NBC and this is the point of time where the format of the show started to change drastically to become the present one. Previously, the contestants fought in city finals to compete in the Japanese version called Sasuke. Initially, the American Ninja Warrior TV show was shot in the day time but gradually as the format has been changed, the show also went from day time to night time. From season 5, when formats changed, the taping of the show started at around 8 pm and contestants would run their obstacles up till 3 am in the morning. G4 network began airing American Ninja Warrior TV show (inspired by the Japanese show Sazuke.) The show had a basic premise: Make it across a series of athletically challenging obstacles without falling. Each week viewers were mesmerized by athletes who managed to traverse seemingly impossible obstacles and amazed by the imaginative minds who created these structures on some maniacal ninja drawing board. In its third season it became so popular that NBC picked it up to air on primetime TV. The show hosts a broad spectrum of participants. While most are from Japan, national television personalities and Olympians from other countries, including the US, Bulgaria, China and Korea, have taken part in the competition. Some of the more enthusiastic competitors dress up in costumes, bring props to the starting stage, or show off some of their talents.
