Roundtables • Purpose: In-depth dialogue on selected topics to 1) discuss practices and experiences; 2) articulate way forward on key issues; and 3) agreement on achievable commitments for donors and partners • Current proposal: RT 7 - Aid Effectiveness in Situations of Fragility and Conflict : Reinforcing applicability of PD, tracking progress in aid / development effectiveness, progress in operationalizing Principles in fragile situations, commitments on SSR

HLF 3 Progress Report Purpose: provide a consolidated analytic overview of major workstreams, looking particularly at the Partnership commitments of the Paris Declaration • Analytic overview assessing progress against Paris commitments and main challenges (10 pages); • Synthesis of multiple workstreams reporting on progress made in implementing the Paris Declaration (50 pages) Contribution for the first draft (early February)

  14. 2008 Survey: Purpose • 2008: Mid-term monitoring survey • The result of the survey will provide an important contribution for assessing progress at the Accra High Level Forum • The survey can contribute to tangible improvements in the way aid is delivered in partner countries.

  18. What about Fragile States? • Expanded coverage; • Increased space for qualitative information; • Fragile states angle in the analysis

  19. 5 out of 34 Countries in the 2006 Survey were fragile states

  20. 2008: 18 out of 41 new countries invited to participate are fragile states

  21. Other improvements Subject to the JV-Monitoring’s agreement… • Increased space for capturing qualitative information for 1) all the indicators; and 2) free space to describe context. • Fragile states angle in the analysis (conscious of potential challenges)
