  2. Clarksburg is located in Harrison County named after the National Small City of the year in 2011. The first-ever non-indigenous visitor was John Simpson who visited his camp located along the West Fork River that sits at the edge of the elk Creek.   3. Simpson Creek Covered Bridge Simpson Creek Covered Bridge is situated in Bridgeport, West Virginia along the entrance of the Meadowbrook Mall. It is home to the 4.34 m, 75-foot long truss bridge which was built around 1881 by AsaHugill. Simpson Creek Covered Bridge and the  Fletcher Covered Bridge are the only 2 remaining covered bridges along with the Harrison County and the finest example of truss design. Elk Creek Elk Creek is a tributary of the Fork River that stretches for almost 29 miles along with north-central West Virginia, USA. The west fork along with Ohio river and Monongahela forms part of the Mississippi watershed draining almost 121 sq miles along the Allegheny plateau. The stream has gots its name after the 18-century hunter and trapper- John Simpson who was believed to encounter herds of elk near the stream.
