  3. Examples of Prepositions “He is sitting on the stool. Two things: he + stool Relationship: one is sitting on the other. The pencil is in my hand. Two things: pencil + hand Relationship: one is in the other

  5. Prepositional Phrases These are prepositional phrases: • off the light • over the fence • on the stool Prepositional phrases start with a preposition and end with the object of the preposition.

  6. What’s a Prepositional Phase • Object of a prep: • Must be a noun or pronoun • always comes at the end of a prepositional phase. He turned off the light. The prepositional phrase is: off the light Object of the preposition Preposition
