  7. Types of Sacrifices • The Sin/Guilt Offering – Makes atonement for specific sin (Leviticus 4:35) • Christ bore the punishment for our sins thus he is the final sin offering (I Peter 2:24) • The Fellowship (peace) Offering – Signifies the worshipper eating in the presence of God, with the blessing of God (Leviticus 7:15) • By partaking of the Blood of Christ we have communion with the Father and are transformed into Christ’s image thus he is the final fellowship offering (II Corinthians 3:18) • The Grain Offering – Principal idea is giving back to God a portion of his blessings (Leviticus 6:14-16) • Christ in his perfect obedience gave to God the honor and thanks due to him, thus he is the final grain offering. He has given God a return upon the blessings he has given us. • The Burnt Offering – makes atonement for sinfulness generally (Leviticus 1:4,9) • Christ was wholly consecrated to God. He suffered death and destruction for sin thus he is the final burnt offering. (Romans 6:3-7) The Necessity of Christ in the Old Testament
