  17. VISION 2012 Biblical Principle: • Psa 78:1MSGAn Asaph psalm. Listen, dear friends, to God's truth, bend your ears to what I tell you. • Psa 78:2 I'm chewing on the morsel of a proverb; I'll let you in on the sweet old truths, • Psa 78:3 Stories we heard from our fathers, counsel we learned at our mother's knee.

VISION 2012 • Psa 78:4 We're not keeping this to ourselves, we're passing it along to the next generation-- GOD's fame and fortune, the marvelous things he has done. • Psa 78:5 He planted a witness in Jacob, set his Word firmly in Israel, Then commanded our parents to teach it to their children

VISION 2012 • Psa 78:6 So the next generation would know, and all the generations to come-- Know the truth and tell the stories so their children • Psa 78:7 can trust in God, Never forget the works of God but keep his commands to the letter. • Psa 78:8 Heaven forbid they should be like their parents, bullheaded and bad, A fickle and faithless bunch who never stayed true to God.

  22. VISION 2012 • Prayer • Campmeeting 2012: Homecoming Theme Youth Camp Reunion/reception • Refrigerator magnets: “Remember to pray for the children and youth of your church and community today!”

  24. VISION 2012 3. Mothering/Planting churches (inheritance & heritage) A. It’s about reproduction! B. How many of us would have ever had children if we had waited until we could afford them? C. Can look at all the reasons we can’t or we can trust god.

  25. VISION 2012 D. In another part of your city E. Another area without IPHC F. Different style church G. Team up with other churches - some have extra musicians, teachers, resources, etc… Furniture, sound, video, etc.. - avoid splits- baby shower! H. Partner with plants/Revitalizations I. Birthing is messy, painful, bloody

  26. VISION 2012 4. Adoption (inheritance) A. Independent Churches B. Independent Ministers C. Ethnic groups D. Commission you to reach out and ask God for connections who are looking for a covering. E. Video and/or Visit (exercise) F. Relevant, Dynamic, Demonstrative

  27. VISION 2012 • All living things designed to reproduce. • We must reproduce or the results are inevitable - we will die out. • May not be able to buy into all of these but buy in somewhere! We need every part doing its part. • Believing for 10 churches per year. (M. P. A.) • Speak life to it! Declare it! Spirit of adoption. • Having babies unites/focuses the family.

  28. VISION 2012 • Gen 17:15 MSG God continued speaking to Abraham, "And Sarai your wife: Don't call her Sarai any longer; call her Sarah. • Gen 17:16 I'll bless her--yes! I'll give you a son by her! Oh, how I'll bless her! Nations will come from her; kings of nations will come from her."

  29. VISION 2012 Gen 17:17 Abraham fell flat on his face. And then he laughed, thinking, "Can a hundred-year-old man father a son? And can Sarah, at ninety years, have a baby?"

  30. VISION 2012 What can I do? • Start or enhance your children’s ministry in faith/ preparation. • Celebrate children and youth without neglecting the Seniors. • Pray repeatedly for lost children/grands. Call them in!

  31. VISION 2012 4. Pray about mothering a church or assisting a plant/revitalization. 5. Ask for favor and be intentional about building relationships with independent ministers, ethnic groups and churches. The Spirit of adoption. 6. Don’t laugh at the fact that God wants to birth through a 100 year old conference! Embrace/Expect!

  32. VISION 2012 Can you believe with me? • that this 100 year old Conference can still have babies in our old age? 2. That we Can reproduce a generation that will impact not only our nation but the nations?

  33. VISION 2012 Can you believe with me? 3. That we can keep the children we have and regain our lost and drifting children and grands? 4. That we can have favor with Independent churches, ethnic groups and ministers and see them come into the IPHC family?
