  1. MORAL SCIENCECULTIVATION OF VALUES 1 A BY ALEXANDER MATHEW THOMAS OF 7 K

  2. Why is there a need for VALUE EDUCATION? • Value Education is education that will teach you - • How to live life well • How to grow and succeed in the right manner • And how to make others happy

  3. WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT? ACADEMIC EDUCATION ORVALUE EDUCATION

  4. Academic Education is essential for making a living, but without value education, it is worthless. It is like two houses, one was built on the sand with a loose foundation, and the other, built on a rock which had a firm foundation. One day, a storm came in and the house on the sand was cast into the sea, whereas the house on the rock was unharmed. The two houses represent our lives some of us have a great life , but with no Value Education, this is the house on the sand. The house on the rock represents someone with a strong Value Education. One day, trials and problems may come our way, and only those with a strong Value Education will be able to go through them. ACADEMIC EDUCATION VALUE EDUCATION

  5. Here are examples of two famous scientists, both have contributed a lot to mankind, Alfred Nobel and Alexander Fleming, the world’s most brilliant scientists, One discovered bacteria and helps to prevent infections to save mankind while the other creates dynamite. One creates something that saves lives and keeps people healthy whereas the other does completely the opposite. Alexander showed his love for mankind by creating penicillin while Alfred Nobel destroyed the homes and lives of millions, but later he felt so bad about it that he invented the Nobel Prize, which was given to those who have strived for their particular field. Alexander Fleming Alfred Nobel

  6. But in some of these great people, rulers and kings, there were some of them who had approached spiritual masters or got guidance from others. Emperor Asoka, one of the greatest Indian Rulers was one among these people. The start of his empire was based on a lot of wars and violence. All that he had and accomplished was after killing many people close to him. After the Kalinga War, Asoka had finally had everything he wanted, but inside he felt sad, empty because he knew that there were no victorious kingdoms that day as many people had died on both sides. So, he became a follower of Buddha and of Peace which made his entire life turn around. Asoka had a good Academic Education at first, but in the end, there was still something lacking, he chose the path of Peace and had a Value Education. This made him an inspiration and a great leader.

  7. SUMMARY • Academic Education is worthless without Value Education • To have true happiness one must be strong in Values
