  5. This Oldways program raises consumer awareness of Mediterranean foods and flavors, and helps companies with healthy Mediterranean foods build their brands around the remarkably healthy Mediterranean Diet.

  7. January 2012 - MFA member, Lindsay Olives, created a blog post about the Mediterranean Diet, using the Pyramid to illustrate their story and including links to Oldways and the MFA.

  8. U.S. News released their second annual diets ranking in January, 2012, giving the Mediterranean Diet the honor of being “Named a Best U.S. News Diet.”

  9. The Huffington Post frequently features the Mediterranean Diet:

  10. A feature on February 14 in The Wall Street Journal focused on a study led by a group of researchers at the University of Miami and Columbia University that used MRI scans to show that adherence to the Mediterranean Diet could protect against blood-vessel damage in the brain.

  11. On February 20 Time ran a three-page feature citing the fact that the Mediterranean Diet is “more effective than a low-fat diet at minimizing heart-attacks and strokes and better than a reduced-carbohydrate diet at cutting the risk of diabetes.”
