  3. The Catholic Portal • Primary interest in rare, unique and uncommon Catholic research materials • Over 100,000 records of collections and items • Thematic collections build critical mass • Catholic missions • 400 records of archival resources • 9 libraries • http://www.catholicresearch.net

Portal themes • Catholic education • Catholic intellectual life • Catholic literary figures • Catholic liturgy and devotion • Catholic missions • Catholic social action • Diocesan collections, including papers of Bishops • Men’s religious orders • Peace-building • Religion and citizenship • Vatican II • Women’s religious orders

Develop important, curated collections • Make thematic collections visible on the portal • Help members relate their collections to shared themes • Identify collaborative opportunities around heritage, mission and/or collections • Facilitate collaborative collection building and digitizing grant opportunities • Sponsor networking around trends in scholarship
