  2. INTRODUCTION TO VIRUSES,WORMS AND TROJAN HORSES • They are malicious software that affect the good working condition of a system. The are also known as MALWARES and the internet is the primary means by which they spread.

EFFECT OF VIRUSES • Slow Performance Long booting time crashes Blue Screens. • It might steal important information from your computer and send to some other person. • It can damage your system completely. • It can lead to cost of buying Anti-virus to fix the system. • Stealing passwords and bank details.

  7. HOW TO AVOID VIRUSES ON YOUR SYSTEM • You must take great care to avoid running malware. • This means scrutinizing all e-mail attachments and downloading programs from trusted sources only. • Anti-virus software can identify well known or widespread Trojan horses but versions of malware that are modified in only minor ways can often slip through.

Anti-virus vendors work hard to keep up with the explosion of malware they can be slow to provide patterns for the latest Trojan horses. • Set whatever securities features the application has to hide. • Being careful when opening a particular documents that arrive when you aren’t expecting any.

CONCLUSION • Installing anti-virus software on computers. • Some of the software you can install on your system is NORTON ANTI-VIRUS,KASPERSKY ETC. • Not opening an unrecognized e-mail and attachment when is not recognized even when we know the sender, cause some MALWARE will automatically send emails to everyone in a particular address book and which the sender is not aware.

  10. Even when all the precautions as been taken you may still become infected by the MALWARE and even loss some data, for this reason it is even extremely important that we backup all our important data. • It is advisable that we should keep important data separately in multiple local copies.
