  13. bandana • The name Bandana is a nod to the famous Argentinean cowboys of the past, known as Gauchos, who wore brightly hand-woven fabrics as Ponchos and scarves known as Bandanas, to protect them from the scorching conditions and to function as neck-shields during long-bladed duels. • The Bandanas were woven by local village ladies with bright geometric patterns that had specific meanings to the weavers. • The Gaucho, when not working, spent his time drinking wine, card playing and fighting. • We believe the Gauchos would have enjoyed the Bandana wines and that they would have gone through several bottles on a good night.

  14. bandana • The Alonso family, founders of Bodega Cruz de Piedra, currently produce a 500,000 case private label brand, Argento, for Tesco in the UK, among many other private label brands for Europe. • Based in the lower foothills of the Andes, in Maipu, Mendoza, the winery that pioneered the single Malbec varietal history in Argentina is located. • The stunning vista of the snow-covered Andes in the vineyard’s background reminds us of the stark contrast of nature’s forces – intense dry heat in the vineyards and the snow on the Andes that becomes precious water flow to feed the vine’s stressed root systems. • With vines as old as thirty five years, they proudly produce wines of world class quality.
