Teaching Sharing your knowledge with others through formal classroom teaching and informal teaching (ex. guest lectures, workshops, short courses, special topics, graduate training). Research Original scholarship and creative contributions. Extension Extension education/programming/teaching. Service Contributions to your department, college, agency, university, societies, stakeholders, industry, public, etc.

  10. How do you know if your achievements meet expectations? Two Approaches to assess your achievements. Peer Expectations What are the expectations of the current administrators and faculty? Metric Expectations Compare your record to other facultyrecently promoted or not promoted.

  11. How do you determine the expectations of current administrators and faculty peers? Annual review Head should indicate progress towards promotion Mid-Term Review Pay close attention to results, especially head & faculty committees Mentors Utilize assigned mentors Seek-out mentors Mock Review Prepare your CV in dossier format Seek faculty reviews Especially important for promotion to Professor Don’t hesitate to contact me: dwreed@tamu.edu
