  2. Two Bronx-based nonprofits… • GIS on a limited budget • Started mapping with street addresses-- as technology improved, maps were built on blocks and lots • Primary function: Help make local improvements to transportation infrastructure, green spaces, and affordable housing development

  3. University Neighborhood Housing Program • Community Resource Guide- http://www.unhp.org/crg.html • Assists community development staff to quickly locate useful community-specific data online. • Early maps used ArcExplorer-- now thanks to a grant, they use ArcGIS 8

  4. Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation • Works with UNHP • Fordham Community Action Plan • Use of maps in presentations • Affordable housing • Building Indicator Project

  5. Enterprise Foundation Developed more than 16,000 units of affordable rental and homeownership housing in New York City, since 1987.
